At Hof Equine, we believe every horse should have the best chance to reach their highest potential, whatever they do. Time and time again, we have improved both horses’ and their owner’s well being through the use of nutritional strategies that are catered to the individual horse, or individual stable, while making sure to include the client’s needs as well. We know that each horse, and each client, have their own specific needs and we strive to meet those needs to the best of our ability. WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOUR HORSE
A LAMINITIC-FRIENDLY DIET
We can design a diet for your laminitic horse that may reduce the incidence or severity of laminitic flare-ups, reduce inflammation and get your horse back on-track for a healthy happy life.
REDUCE THE “FIZZINESS” WITHOUT COMPROMISING PERFORMANCE
Many behavioural issues such as “fizziness” or spooking may be due to certain feeds in your horse’s diet. We can analyse your horse’s current ration and design a new improved diet which may help reduce this undesirable behaviour, allowing you to better enjoy your time with your horse, and leave you free to work on the things you want to.
REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF SWELLING AND INFLAMMATION
Frequent or overly severe swelling and inflammation, such as in hoof abscesses and some lameness, may be caused by an imbalance of Omega 3 to Omega 6 in your horse’s diet. We can design a diet that puts Omega 3 and Omega 6 in the best possible balance, which may help reduce the severity and/or incidence of swelling and inflammation.
FEED INTOLERANCES AND ALLERGIES
Some horses, like humans, may be intolerant or allergic to certain feeds. If a dietary intolerance or allergy has been identified or suspected for your horse, we can design a feed that best suits your horse, making sure to exclude the offending feed.
